what to expect
Haven't been to church at CentrePoint yet? Wondering what the experience will be like? Here's what you can expect when you join us for a worship gathering at CentrePoint:
Worship Jesus
We usually start by singing songs of worship to Jesus. Jesus said that we should worship in spirit and truth, and we try to do both. We are relaxed and reverent and sing a mix of contemporary songs and ancient hymns. We often have a band in Edinburgh and acoustic guitar accompaniment in Bathgate. We're passionate because we're excited about God, and deeply in love with Jesus.
CentrePoint Kids
After worship, we give parents with small children an opportunity to take them to Crèche (6 months to age 4) and Kid's Church (P1-P4). They'll have a great time playing, doing arts and crafts, studying the Bible and learning about Jesus.
What's On
We take a few minutes in the middle of our worship gathering to welcome people and talk about upcoming events. We also give people an opportunity to honour God by collecting an offering.
Sermon
Although sometimes we do a one-off talk, we usually study through books of the Bible. One of our pastors will present a sermon - a talk about the Bible. The purpose of this is to see what the Bible says, talk about what it means, and consider how to apply it to our lives.
Tea/Coffee/Biscuits
After the sermon, we conclude our time together by enjoying food and meeting new people. There's always someone new at church, and it's fun to catch up with people you already know. And sometimes - there is so much more than biscuits!
